“Inkworks”
made a promise to the James Bond fans that “Volume III-The Bond
Legacy” would appear during the summer of 97. The fans had to
wait until mid August for this third and last part of the Connoisseurs
Collection. This third part contains beautiful pictures and background
information on the following James Bond movies: “For Your Eyes
Only”, “Octopussy”, “A View To A Kill”,
“The Living Daylights”, “License to Kill”
and “GoldenEye”. This time three different Bond actors
were featured, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan. To
announce and promote this third part, a beautiful designed sell-sheet
with the title “WANTED by S.P.E.C.T.R.E.” and a promotion
card was distributed through the retail shops. The promotion card
P3 depicted a publicity still of Famke Janssen, Pierce Brosnan and
Isabella Scorupco.
Again
the chase cards followed the first two sets with the “Women
Of Bond”, randomly inserted into 1/11 packs and showing gorgeous
stills of Carole Bouquet as Melina and Lynn-Holly Johnson as Bibi
Dhal in “For Your Eyes Only”, Maud Adams as Octopussy
and Kristina Wayborn as Magda in “Octopussy”, Tanya Roberts
as Stacey Sutton and Grace Jones as May Day in “A View To A
Kill”, Maryam d'Abo as Kara Milovy in “The Living Daylights”
Talisa Soto as Lupe and Carey Lowell as Pam Bouvier in “Licence
To Kill” & Izabella Scorupco as Natalya Simonova in “GoldenEye”.
Sadly there isn’t a card of Xenia Onatopp played by the Dutch
actress Famke Janssen. The numbering of these foil-etched cards continued
from the previous card sets, W19 thru W27.

Also
the foil-etched “Movie Poster” chase cards were back and
this time they display the original movie posters from the 80’s
and the 90’s starting with “For Your Eyes Only”
until “GoldenEye”. The numbering continued the first two
parts and starts with P12 until P17. As before the Movie Poster
chase cards were randomly inserted in 1/24 packs.
For
the third and last time Inkworks created a “Golden Touch”
chase card. This time the gold-foil, sculpted and embossed card featured
Pierce Brosnan in the “GoldenEye” casino scene. The card
is numbered as G3 and as before only inserted in 1/108 packs.
As
an extra bonus to the third volume the manufacturer added in one to
four cases a platinum chase card. We can see this bonus as the first
James Bond multi case topper card. This card continues the platinum
chase card series that started accidentally when some platinum Roger
Moore chase cards were added in the packs of the second volume. The
numbering for the golden and the platinum cards are identical G1,
G2 & G3. For the true die hard collectors there are also two uncut
sheets available, one with the three golden cards and another displaying
the three platinum cards.

Golden
lettering on the counter display box announced the third volume "The
Legacy". This time the box lid featured a picture of Pierce Brosnan,
his first role as secret agent 007. The counter display box is a nice
addition to every James Bond memorabilia collection.
Rumour
has it there was three chips for this set, there was also promo chips
givin away with the letters AP on them. I have to say after extensive
research and talking to “Inkworks” themselves, who confirm
the rumours I can only find the three examples shown here below. The
rarest thing on the Casino Chips is the odd date, 1999 as you know
the Collectors Edition was issued in 1996 & 1997. Very bizarre!!
