On the 5th October 1962 the first James Bond movie “Dr. No” hits the big screen at the London Pavillion. It was the start of the double ooh seven phenomenon, the fictional character and number created by Ian Fleming has spawned twenty four different James Bond movies by 2008, two of them are classed as, not official, meaning they were not produced by EON Productions. In 2002, Rittenhouse Archives Ltd. was proud to commemorate the 40th Anniversary of the first official James Bond movie “Dr. No” by issuing a very special trading card set containing only eighteen cards. The first card shows the original poster artwork in black & white and the 40th Anniversary logo. Each of the other cards depicts a black & white picture of the leading actors and actresses printed on a silver satin, with liquid foil card. The 18 cards feature all of the major characters, including, James Bond, Honey Ryder, Dr. No, Sylvia Trench, Felix Leiter, Professor Dent, M, Quarrel, Miss Taro, Strangways and Miss Moneypenny. On each card the main picture is surrounded by circular stills from the movie. A must have for every serious James Bond fan.
